Somehow, Skubal Returned and Injuries Abound

I don’t know why we have to be the team to face Skuball in his return from the IL. Can’t they face the White Sox or something?

Series Results

A series of pretty weird games. The second and third had the return of two of the Tigers’ great pitchers, but the second had a slew of injuries.

The third game was canceled, but honestly I’m still hung up on José breaking a bone in his hand and needing surgery. He had the same surgery on the other hand in ‘18 and took just under a month off, but that was in the post season push.

Game Results

Game 1 (71) – WON

• Two wins in a row for Bibee? Is this legal?
• 19 saves in a row for Cade? Is this allowed?
• No-see-um over the shoulder catch for Rocchio? And a triple? Is this real?
• Oh yeah, we won!

Game 2 (72) – WON

• So in the first inning, DeLauter banged into the wall and left with bruised ribs. Martinez fouled off his foot (x-rays negative) and left the game. One of the umpires left feeling sick. Interesting start…
• Schnee took two off Skubal. Lefties are doing well against him.
• Why is today a Gavin Williams Bobblehead if he’s pitching tomorrow?
• 6th inning had Hoskins moved fro the outfield fo shuffle around because José left the game! This immediately resulted in a triple for the Tigers.
• Turns out José hurt his hand. Left Hamate fracture with a 6-8 week recovery time.
• Apparently there was a security guard who got hurt? What the hell?

Game 3 (73) – POSTPONED

• Honestly we needed the day off.
• José is on the 10-day IL
• Arias was recalled
• Valera was DFA’d
• Martinez is day to day
• DeLauter is … unknown

Tomorrow is another day off and then we’re off to Milwaukee for a three game set against the Brewers!
