Coming off a rough game against the Pirates, it’s time for our perennial rivals, the Twins!
I like playing the Twins. They’re very much like us, and to me that makes for fun baseball. That said, there are a couple Twins fans who just despise the Guards and Cleveland, and Reddit likes to tease them for a “Twins Rage Factor” which is calculated … somehow. I don’t know why they hate us, when the Yankees and Dodgers and their billions of payroll are right there. Come on, guys, let’s hate the real evils in the game.
As it stands, I’m pro a salary cap as long as it has a floor as well.
Series Results
After a dismal series versus the Pirates, apparently someone had words and we decided to hit a lot. Cleveland tied a record for number of home runs at home in a single game!

- Joe Ryan is one of the worst guys to get a home run off, and by the third inning, the guys had 5.
- Hoskins had a multi-homer game.
- Petey Halpin hit his first home run in the majors. And his second.
- Shit, seven homers? We haven’t had that at home since 2019!
- Kwan put on a Cleveland Clinic in left.

- Not as great a game as yesterday, but we can’t all be blowouts!
- Right before Kwan hit his RBI, my buddy told me he’d lose it if the Guards got shut out. Apparently Kwan took that personally.
- Bazzana, who had a whiffed throw that did cost a run, was part of a double steal and a beautiful slide at home plate.
- Watson came off the bench to pinch hit and got the rally going for Cleveland to take the lead.
- Watson also made the game ending catch that was so incredibly, Hammy couldn’t tell if he caught it or not!

- Imagine my delight when I saw José playing third, batting second today!
- Not as delighted that Watson was sent to AAA. My guess is that he’s down for the playing time and has more options than Arias, whom I expect to be traded soon.
- José got on base a couple times, but it’s clear his left hand isn’t quite back yet.
- Six unearned runs, damn, this was a failure of pitching and fielding more than anything.

- Big Rig had an immaculate inning! 9 pitches. 9 strikes. 3 outs. That’s hella impressive!
- Kwan again was outstanding in left, and he got on base again!
- José got his first Intentional Walk since returning.
- Blown Save for Cade (his fourth, which honestly isn’t that bad). I wonder if Vogter’s going to rethink his whole “Bring Cade in, in the 8th” bullshit.
Now it’s off to Florida for the Tampa Bay Rays, and then back up to Ohio for the Red and the battle for the Ohio Cup!
