Do or Die with Chi – Must be September

·

This is actually a pretty do-or-die series.

In order for Cleveland to have a solid chance to make the playoffs, they had to sweep the series. For the White Sox, they only had to win one game. And we walked into the series with only 5 sweeps all season. Not great.

Gosh I wish I could get a City Connect Hockey Jersey. Eventually I’ll get another jersey and it’ll be City Connect because those are just FIRE.

We dropped the first game, but we won the second two in Cleveland fashion. So, no sweep and if we end the season tied with the Sox, they would take the division and we have no assurance of our going to the post season.

I admit, I almost wrote the team out when Jose went on the IL. Serves me right.

  • Until that crazy 18 pitch at bat, it was going well. The 6th was just brutal.
  • Big Rig had 7 strike outs!
  • Cecconi did pretty good from the pen.
  • If we could stop hitting batters though, that would be nice.
  • Side note: I really think if you get hit after the ball bounces off the ground, it shouldn’t count as a hit batsman!

  • Starting off with Back to Back Jacks is nice.
  • Can we please stop hitting batters? Carl Willis, what is going on?!
  • On the other hand, a wild throw hitting the umpire and letting us score a run? Yeah okay!
  • Bazzana had two solo shots! He’s found his grove.
  • Jo Adell is the right fielder we’ve needed. A basher with a good beard.
  • Rocchio continues his late season dominance.

  • We always have day games right when I have morning meetings.
  • I still feel like José is trying to do too much. Much like Kwannie in the first half of the season.
  • Petey Halpin with a 3-run homer. His third hit ever off a left handed pitcher.
  • José, who hadn’t had an extra base hit all month, knocked in two (and one was for a run!).
  • Cade Smith, in two consecutive games, kicked ass.

Tomorrow is an off-day and then the Oakland Sacramento Whatever Athletics come to town!
