It used to be I’d take a day off to be at the Wednesday day game. I love day games in Anaheim. It was only a 15 minute drive away!
Of course now I’m up north and the closest stadium is 4 hours and a border crossing away. Still, after 13 years down there I’m allowed to mock the hell out of the Angels for trying to be the “Los Angeles” anything.
Right field is where Jo Adell fell into the audience a couple years ago. I was actually at the game before that one, and that’s where I was sitting!

There is a brutal heatwave in the OC (which is where Anaheim is, damn it!). It was over 90. And the Guards game started at 6:30 local, meaning it was over after 9pm, meaning midnight for the home fans. Hell, it was late for me.

We had a bit of a reversal with curses. Bibee did great, Big Rig had his worst ever outing. Both will continue to improve over time, though. At least, I really hope Big Rig doesn’t let this get him too down.
The worst thing about an Angels’ game is Hammy is always off for that road trip. It bums me out, since when I lived out there I could only listen to the game (even though it didn’t air on any network I had), and having to hear Chris Jimenez and Rosey is a disappointment. At least now I can watch the games.
The funny thing is, I wrote the title for this post before Angel Martínez decided he’d put on a clinic in the outfield.
We end the road trip with two sweeps! What a way to go, Guards!
