A Royal Ass-Kicking and one Kick Back

·

For some reason, we’re not very good at home right now. I’m not sure what’s going on, but last year we were amazing at home and in our City Connect uniforms.

The Royals are, apparently, the best defensive team in baseball. This week they sure didn’t look it, with some egregious ball handling.

They still took two games out of three, which really shows where our hitting weaknesses are. Which is kind of all of them.

  • Not our best game.
  • This is the second game my friend Karl went to all year, and both were shutout losses. We’re discussing if he should go to playoff games.
  • Bibee was fucking fantastic, but his curse remains.

  • The Royals, in their powder blue kit, were pretty clumsy.
  • That accidental block of the basepath for Rocchio in the 2nd was bullshit. I get that he ran outside the basepath, but the other option was what? Run into the guys?
  • That signalled the end of good plays for us.

  • Messick had a rough first inning and then was amazing.
  • DeLauter went 4 for 4.
  • José hit his first home run since coming back. Went 2 for 3 with a homer and 4 RBIs.
  • With a ten run deficit, the Royals had their catcher (Maile, a former Clevelander) pitch the 8th,

While we lost the series, we figured out some things and finally the bats bailed out a pitcher.

Off day tomorrow and then the Jays come to Cleveland.
