Cleveland North Defeats the Guards

There are so many former Guards on the Jays, many of us call them Cleveland North. As a Canadian born in Cleveland, I always root for the Guards but I’m generally not devastated if they lose.

By the way, if you think “Hey, the game day on the front page changed!” you are correct! I saw the work Reddit did for their MLB Dinger app and decided… I can do that too! So I did. For people who don’t like Reddit.

Series Results

A series against a team that also wants to win to get to the post season. These are always the best.

Except when you lose.

Honestly, we did okay in the first game, but our batting at home this year has been terrible and I cannot fathom why. Anyway. We lost the series, which means if we and the Jays are tied for the Wildcard spot at the end of the season, the Jays go.

Game Results

Game 1 (138) – WON

• Gimenez got hit by a pitch. Of course.
• Bailey had two flubs on field, and then hit his first oppo taco home run.
• Big Rig set a record of 13 strikeouts in one game!
• Genao hit his second home run, and first as a pinch hitter!
• Martinez knocked out a home run?!

Game 2 (139) – LOST

• Rough outing for Cantillo. So many unearned runs.
• This was a game where our bats did nothing. That said, we were against Dylan “Cy Young Candidate” Cease.

Game 3 (140) – LOST

• Per usual, Bibee can’t get no run support.
• Most of those runs were his fault too, walking 5 people.
• Hedgy tried to keep us in the game, but the bats were too weak.
