In a preview of the post season, we go to Bean Town and prayed to win. Mind you the White Sox are playing the Royals, so we really had win. The magic number calculations are weird.
On Wednesday morning, our number was 2 for the post season and 5 for the division (with 5 games left). What we really need is for Kansas City to spoil the White Sox but not us. By Thursday, the Guards were at 1 for the post season and 4 for a bye.
Thursday night? We won. We took two out of three from the Red Sox (who are a way better team than we are!) and Hammy said the words we all wanted to hear.
It never gets old, does it? Cleveland. You will have another October to remember.

Fenway is such a weird park. The Green Monster in left is so weird to play off of. First game we had Angel Martinez in Left, but for the second we did Kwan in Left and Halpin in Centre for the defence. Third was Angel again for Left and thank fuck for that, because ya boi is why we won the series!

- Good effort all around. We still need to improve getting runners home from third.
- Agressive base-running burned us twice (going third to home) but it put a lot pressure on the Red Sox.
- Gaddis gave up a home run, but it was 6th run off him all year. He’s also the winning pitcher.
- Cade Smith had trouble throwing strikes, but when he did, boy!
Postseason Magic Number: 2?
Seriously 14 to 11? We remain a game ahead of Chicago but watching the Royals never give up (grand slam in the 9th!) was a delight!

- Our 17th shut out. And not in the good way.
- We held the Rex Sox to one run though!
- Can’t call it a bad game, to be honest.
Postseason Magic Number: 1
The Royals struggled but kept us even with the Sox (thank you!). We need to win one and either the Astros or Rangers lose one to secure our spot. Of course, if we outpace the White Sox, we get the Division and a Bye (meaning we don’t play the first round)

- Angel hit a line drive home run, just to the side of Pesky’s Pole (named for a person) and that was the only fucking run in the whole game.
- Espino and Cantillo were hot. Gaddis was a bit scary. Sabrowski made me nervous. Cade Smith is carved from solid BC ice!
Postseason Magic Number: 0
Masters of our own domain, the Guardians will go to the post season. If we can win more games than the White Sox, we win the division and thus get a bye … we wouldn’t have to play an extra series. That would really be nice.
