Stung in Tampa Bay for a 2 Shut-out Sweep

·

Baseball catcher sprawled on dirt at home plate as a sliding opponent crosses the plate, with an umpire nearby.

José and Angel are back. Schneeman sent down. An interesting choice.

This was a bad series all around. Too many errors, dumb choices, and weak hits. José looks like he’s trying to hit for power and not contact, which is ridiculous because he’s so fast.

Pitching wasn’t terrible except the first game, and a lot of the pitching issues were with unearned runs (meaning walks and errors, not hits).

  • A couple throwing errors, but the worst news is Shawn Armstrong looks like he ruptured his left Achilles tendon.
  • Again, our batting sucks.
  • Our fielding did us dirty today too.

  • I have never seen a team fuck up a rundown like that before.
  • José got a hit, as did Kwan, but we didn’t get a runner to second base until the 9th, and it was on indifference.
  • I know our catchers are hitting well, but … come on, guys.

  • One hit. One fucking hit.
  • Sending in Fry for Manzo was a choice that didn’t pay off.
  • Sending in Hoskins for Halpin was also a choice.

Back to Ohio for a three game series at the Reds.

I guess it’s good for us that the Reds are sucking, but we gotta learn to hit a changeup.
